Privacy Policy for PDF Workshop

About this policy

PDF Workshop is provided by Aktyva konsaltynh technologies. This policy describes how the Android app handles information when you import, view, merge, split, organize, save, or share PDFs.

Information accessed and stored

PDF Workshop accesses PDFs you select through Android’s document picker and copies them into its private local workspace. These files may contain personal information, depending on their contents. The app processes their contents on your device to display pages and thumbnails and create new PDFs. Password-protected documents are not supported.

The app stores imported PDFs, generated results, and library information locally. Library information includes filenames, categories, page counts, file sizes, operation types, dates, and the last viewed page. It also reads available document metadata, including title, author, subject, creator, creation and modification dates, and page dimensions. Preferences such as the default output name and removal-confirmation setting are stored locally.

The inspected application does not implement accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking, or uploads to developer-operated servers. It does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, or location.

How information is used

The app uses document contents and library information to provide PDF viewing, searching, categorization, merging, extraction, splitting, page reordering, rotation, and export. It uses recent-viewing information to show recently opened documents and remember reading positions. PDF operations create new documents while leaving external source files unchanged.

Collection and network use

PDF processing works offline without an account. The inspected source does not implement collection of document contents or usage information by the developer. Although the Android manifest declares internet permission, the implemented PDF workspace does not use it to transmit documents or usage data.

Sharing and third-party components

PDF Workshop shares a PDF with another app only when you use the sharing feature and select a destination. Android grants the receiving app permission to read the selected PDF. The recipient may receive the PDF’s contents, filename, and embedded metadata and handles that information under its own practices.

When you export a copy, the app writes it to the location you choose through Android’s document picker. Locations offered by other providers may include cloud storage. Importing from or exporting to such a provider may involve that provider’s services and privacy practices.

The app uses PDFBox-Android for local PDF processing, along with Android and Compose components for its interface and device features. No advertising, analytics, or remote crash-reporting SDK is configured in the inspected source.

Android backup

The app allows Android system backup. Depending on your device, Android version, backup provider, and settings, workspace documents and preferences may be included in system backup or device transfer. These processes are controlled by Android and your chosen backup service rather than by the app’s PDF-processing functions. Review your device’s backup settings to manage them.

Security

Workspace PDFs are stored in the app’s private internal storage, and preferences use private app storage. Sharing uses Android’s FileProvider with permission granted for the selected document. Document-operation and page-rendering errors are written to Android system logs; exception details may include information about a failed operation. The inspected source does not send these logs to the developer.

The app does not implement additional encryption for its workspace files. Its local PDF workflow does not require app-operated network transfers, so it does not provide a separate transmission-encryption mechanism for that workflow. Backup services, document providers, and receiving apps control the security of transfers they perform. No storage or security measure guarantees absolute protection.

Retention and deletion

Workspace documents and library settings remain on your device until you remove them or clear the app’s data. There is no automatic retention period implemented for saved documents.

Removing a document from the library removes its library record. To also delete its workspace PDF, keep removal confirmation enabled and select “Also delete this app’s local copy” in the removal dialog. Removing an entry without selecting this option leaves the local PDF stored in the app’s private storage. When removal confirmation is disabled, removing an entry leaves its local copy stored as well.

“Clear recent viewing history” resets stored viewing dates and page positions. “Clear temporary storage” removes matching temporary cache files and preserves imported documents and saved results.

You can use Android’s app-storage controls to clear the app’s local data. Uninstalling generally removes its private local data, but backups may remain or restore data according to your system settings. External originals, exported files, and copies shared with other apps are not deleted by removing a workspace document or clearing the app’s data. Manage those copies through the relevant storage location, receiving app, or backup service.

For privacy questions or deletion requests, contact mateuszbednarski696@gmail.com. The app does not implement a server-side deletion-request feature, and the developer cannot remotely erase documents stored on your device or copies held by other services.

Children’s privacy

The available information does not establish a specific intended age group. The inspected app does not implement accounts, advertising, tracking, or developer-side collection for children or other users. Personal information contained in a selected PDF is processed locally in the same way as other document contents. Contact the privacy email with any concerns about a child’s information.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the app’s features or information-handling practices. Review the latest policy when using an updated version of PDF Workshop.
